Cat GP40N Specifications
The Caterpillar GP40N is a 4.0-ton (4,000 kg / 8,818
lb) LPG/petrol-powered pneumatic-tire forklift engineered for heavy-duty
industrial environments requiring strong torque output, excellent throttle
response, low vibration, durable mast assemblies, and stable load-handling
characteristics. As part of Caterpillar’s modern GPN-Series, the GP40N is
optimized for high-duty indoor-outdoor operations such as fabrication plants,
lumber yards, steel warehouses, freight terminals, palletized material
distribution centers, high-cycle logistics hubs, and multi-shift
material-handling operations.
The model is available with two industrial spark-ignition engines: the Nissan
GK45K 4.5-liter LPG/petrol engine and the PSI 4X 4.3-liter industrial engine.
Both engines are known for smooth power delivery, high torque at low RPM,
efficient fuel use, long durability, and clean emissions. The GP40N combines a
heavy-duty chassis, industrial powershift transmission, load-sensing hydraulic
system, hydrostatic steering, protective operator environment, high-visibility
mast structure, and simplified maintenance access.
Operators benefit from precise control modulation, strong acceleration under
load, reduced vibration due to engine and cab isolation, ergonomic lever layout,
wide visibility through the mast, and a robust overhead guard. Maintenance
technicians appreciate centralized service points, wide-opening hood, easily
accessible filters, durable wiring looms, protected hydraulic routing, and a
logical component layout.
