The Hyster H30FT is powered by the PSI 2.0L engine, a
proven industrial power unit known for its reliability and efficiency.
Basic Technical Data: The engine is a 4-cylinder LPG engine with a displacement
of 122 cu.in (1998 cc to 1999 cc). It produces a rated power of 44 hp at an
unspecified rpm, equivalent to 33 kW, with permanent output of 44 hp (33 kW), a
power output of 40 hp for the DuraMatch LP version. The engine delivers a torque
of 100 lb-ft (136 Nm) at 1300 rpm. The engine meets relevant emission standards
for its production period, with later models (2019-2023) featuring the PSI 2.0L
engine. The Mazda 2.0L and 2.2L engines were also used in the F001 Series,
particularly for earlier models.
Lubrication: The engine employs a forced lubrication system. Routine
maintenance, including oil and filter changes, is mandated at specific hourly
intervals as outlined in the periodic maintenance schedule to ensure longevity
and performance.
Cooling: Engine temperature is regulated by a pressurized liquid cooling system
featuring a square-wave anti-clog radiator. This design ensures optimal cooling
performance even in demanding environments. Regular inspection of coolant levels
and condition, as well as monitoring the radiator, water pump, and hoses for
wear and debris, is part of standard preventative maintenance.
Transmission: The H30FT is equipped with an electronic
powershift transmission. This transmission features one forward and one reverse
speed. The transmission includes electronic inching and electronic shift control
for precise and smooth operation. A neutral start switch prevents the engine
from starting unless the transmission is in neutral.
Travel Speed: This forklift achieves a laden travel speed of 13.1 mph (21.1
km/h) and an unladen speed of 13.4 mph (21.5 km/h). The DuraMatch LP version has
a maximum speed of 12.8 mph (20.6 km/h).
Axles: The front axle is a drive axle with 2 driven wheels. The wheelbase is
54.5 in (1385 mm). Some dealer listings indicate a wheelbase of 60 in (1524 mm),
which may represent different configurations or model years.
Brakes: Service braking is handled by a hydraulic foot brake system. The parking
brake is a hand-operated mechanical lever.
The electrical system operates at a standard 12 volts
with a maintenance-free battery rated at 475 cold cranking amps. The system
powers the starter motor, lights, and electronic control units. An LCD display
provides the operator with performance, diagnostics, and maintenance
information.
The chassis is a heavy-duty, one-piece welded steel
frame that supports all major components: the engine, drivetrain, counterweight,
and mast. The frame includes integral tie downs for secure transportation.
Wheels and Tires: The truck is fitted with pneumatic tires as standard. The
front tires are size 6.50x10-10 (6.50x10-10PR). The rear tires are size
5.00x8.00 (5.00x8-00). The wheel configuration features 2 driven wheels at the
front and 2 steer wheels at the rear. Overall width is 42.0 in (1068 mm) for
standard tread configuration, with wide tread option at 48.7 in (1238 mm).
Steering: The H30FT features hydrostatic power steering as standard equipment.
This system significantly reduces the effort required to turn the wheel,
especially when the truck is stationary or moving slowly under load. The steer
column is adjustable, allowing operators to position the steering wheel for
optimal comfort and control.
The hydraulic system powers the lifting, tilting, and
auxiliary functions such as sideshift. The system includes a 3-function valve
and hose group for attachment control. A high-capacity pump provides adequate
oil supply for mast and steering functions. The auxiliary hydraulic pressure
relief for attachments is set at 2300 psi (160 bar). The higher relief pressure
is 2985 psi and pump flow is 15.9 gpm.
The forklift is equipped with a 2-stage limited free
lift (LFL) VISTA mast as standard, with optional 2-stage full free lift (FFL)
and 3-stage FFL configurations available. The VISTA mast design provides
excellent visibility. The standard mast configuration has a lowered height of 84
in (2125 mm). It provides a free lift of 5 in (140 mm) for the LFL mast,
enabling lifting in low-clearance areas before the mast sections begin to
extend. Optional full free lift masts provide 35 in (902 mm) of free lift for
2-stage FFL. The maximum lift height is 127 in (3232 mm) for the standard
2-stage LFL mast.
Three-stage masts can achieve lift heights up to 187 in (4750 mm). The mast
extends to a height of 176 in (4455 mm) including load backrest. The mast tilts
forward by 6 degrees and backward by 6 degrees to facilitate load handling and
secure transport. The fork carriage is a 38.5 in (978 mm) wide hook-type
carriage with a 48 in (1219 mm) tall load backrest. The standard fork dimensions
are 1.6 in thick, 3.9 in wide, and 42.0 in long, which is 40 mm by 100 mm by
1067 mm. The maximum fork spread (outside dimensions) is 37.5 in (955 mm).
Load Capacity: 3,000 lb (1,360 kg)
Load Centre: 24 in (610 mm)
The lift speed with a load is 114 ft/min (0.58 m/s) for
the standard 2-stage LFL mast, and without a load, it increases to 118 ft/min
(0.60 m/s). Optional mast configurations have different lift speeds: 2-stage FFL
at 102/106 ft/min (0.52/0.54 m/s), and 3-stage FFL at 106/110 ft/min (0.54/0.56
m/s).
Lowering speeds are 100 ft/min (0.51 m/s) with
load and 92 ft/min (0.47 m/s) without load for the standard 2-stage LFL
mast. The truck can generate a maximum drawbar pull of 2568 lb (1165 kg)
when laden and 1933 lb (877 kg) when unladen. Its gradeability is 28
percent when laden and 30 percent when unladen.
The length to the face of the forks is 88.1 in (2239
mm). With forks added, overall length is 130.1 in (3305 mm). The overall width
is 42.0 in (1068 mm) for standard tread configuration. The height to the top of
the overhead guard is 84.6 in (2149 mm) for the standard guard, with an optional
guard height of 81.9 in (2081 mm). The step height from ground to running board
is 14.6 in (371 mm).
Ground clearance, unladen, is 5.3 in (135 mm) at the lowest point and 5.7 in
(146 mm) at the centre of the wheelbase. With a load, ground clearance decreases
by approximately 6 mm (0.24 in). The minimum aisle width required for
right-angle stacking (add length of load) is 92.1 in (2339 mm). The equal aisle
width for 90-degree intersecting aisles is 73.9 in (1830 mm). The outside
turning radius is 77.0 in (1955 mm). The truck's operating weight is 6367 lb
(2888 kg).
