Clark C30CL Specifications
Basic Information
The Clark C30CL is a 3.0-tonne (6,600 lb) capacity, LPG-powered, seated rider forklift, engineered for reliable performance in demanding indoor material handling applications. As a core model in Clark's C-Series cushion tire line, this forklift is designed for maneuverability in warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities where smooth floors are standard.
Powered by a robust 2.4 L four-cylinder LPG
engine, it delivers responsive power and reliable operation. Its compact
design, hydrostatic power steering, and durable construction ensure
productive, safe, and efficient operation. Operator comfort and safety
features, including ergonomically designed controls and wet disc brakes,
contribute to exceptional handling confidence and reduced operator
fatigue.
The Clark C30CL is a counterbalanced cushion tire forklift truck
designed for versatility and safety. It operates on LPG and is
controlled by a seated operator. Its rated load capacity is 3000 kg
(6614 lb) at a 500 mm (19.7 in) load centre. The load distance from the
drive axle centre to the fork face measures 426 mm (16.8 in), and the
truck has a wheelbase of 1400 mm (55.1 in).
The service weight of the truck when unladen is 4490 kg (9899 lb). When fully laden, the axle loading on the front axle is 6513 kg (14359 lb) and on the rear axle is 977 kg (2154 lb). When unladen, these figures shift to 1528 kg (3369 lb) on the front and 2962 kg (6530 lb) on the rear.
Engine Specs
The primary engine is the Hyundai Motor Company (HMC)
Theta 2.4, a 2.4 L (144 cu.in) unit with dual overhead camshafts and 16 valves.
It has a bore and stroke of 88 mm x 97 mm (3.46 in x 3.82 in). The compression
ratio is 10.5:1 for Multi-Point Injection (MPI) versions and 11.3:1 for Gasoline
Direct Injection (GDI) versions. The engine is rated to produce 35 kW (47 hp) at
2250 rpm. Maximum torque is 163 Nm (120 lb-ft) achieved at 1400 rpm.
Alternative engine configurations include the Mitsubishi 4G64 2.4 L (2359 cc)
engine and the Mitsubishi 4G63 2.0 L engine found in some model years. Power
output varies between 32.8 kW (44 hp) and 52.5 kW (70 hp) depending on the
specific engine and rated speed. Some later models feature Power Solutions
International (PSI) fuel systems.
The system is designed to support continuous operation in demanding conditions.
The engine employs a forced lubrication system with full-flow filtration to
protect internal components. Liquid cooling is maintained by a belt-driven
centrifugal water pump and a radiator designed for efficient heat dissipation.
Drive Train
Transmission: The C30CL is equipped with a proven
drivetrain designed for durability and smooth operation. The transmission allows
for smooth direction changes, enhancing operator efficiency and reducing
fatigue. The specific transmission type is a powershift transmission with one
forward and one reverse gear.
Travel Speed: The forklift achieves a maximum travel speed of 16.7 km/h (10.4
mph) both when fully laden and when unladen. The reverse speeds are consistent
with forward speeds, ensuring reliable maneuverability in both directions.
Axles and Brakes: The truck uses a drive axle configuration with two driven
wheels on the front (2x2). The service brake system features wet disc brakes or
drum and shoe brakes depending on configuration, providing reliable stopping
power for both laden and unladen operations. The brake type is hydraulic.
Electrical System
The electrical system operates at 12V. The system is responsible for starting the LPG engine and powering all lights and operator interface components. The system features moisture-resistant electrical connectors for durability.
Wheels and Tires
The Clark C30CL is fitted with cushion tires, designed
for traction and durability on smooth indoor surfaces. It has four wheels in
total, with the front two being the driven wheels. The front tire size is
21x8-15 (533 mm x 203 mm x 381 mm) or 21x7-15 (533 mm x 178 mm x 381 mm). The
rear tire size is 16x6-10.5 (406 mm x 152 mm x 267 mm) or 16x5-10.5 (406 mm x
127 mm x 267 mm). The front tread width measures 908 mm (35.7 in). The rear
tread width is 920 mm (36.2 in). The body and frame are constructed of fully
welded heavy gauge steel for durability.
The Clark C30CL features hydrostatic power steering that eliminates steering
kick-back, making steering easy and precise. The double acting steer cylinder
ensures precise and direct steering. The mast and fork carriage can tilt forward
by 5 degrees and backward by 6 degrees to facilitate load handling and secure
transport.
Hydraulic System
The hydraulic system is a core component for lift and tilt operations. The hydraulic tank capacity is 38 L (10 gal). System pressure is rated at 172 bar (2500 psi). Operating pressure for attachments is adjustable up to 140 bar (2030 psi).
A high-capacity pump provides adequate oil supply for the upright and the hydrostatic steering. Load handling is controlled via a precise control valve. A safety valve provides extra safety and prevents uncontrolled lowering of the load at all times. The hydraulic system was operational in tested units.
Mast Data
The Clark C30CL is equipped with lifting systems available in 2-stage and 3-stage (Triplex) configurations. With the mast fully lowered, the height to the top of the mast is 2115 mm (83.3 in). The free lift, which is the height the forks can rise before the mast itself begins to extend, is 109 mm (4.3 in).
The maximum lift height for the standard configuration is 3300 mm (129.9 in), with alternative lift heights of 4800 mm (189 in) available on triplex masts. At maximum lift, the mast extends to a total height of 4520 mm (177.9 in) including the load backrest. The maximum fork spread is 990 mm (39 in). The fork carriage is DIN 15173 class III A.
Load Capacity
Load Capacity - 6,614 lb (3,000 kg)
Load Centre - 19.7 in (500 mm)
Performance Data
The lift speed for the 3000 kg (6614 lb) rated load is 0.53 m/s (104 ft/min) when laden and 0.58 m/s (114 ft/min) when unladen. Lowering speed is controlled at 0.45 m/s (88 ft/min) for both laden and unladen conditions. The maximum drawbar pull is 24780 N (5570 lbf) for a laden truck and 7160 N (1610 lbf) for an unladen truck (converted from 2526 kg and 730 kg). The maximum gradeability with load is 27%.
Dimensions and Weight
The overall length of the truck, including the forks,
is 3426 mm (134.9 in). The length from the front face of the backrest to the
fork face is 2356 mm (92.8 in). The overall width of the truck is 1110 mm (43.7
in). The standard forks have dimensions of 45 mm (1.8 in) thick, 122 mm (4.8 in)
wide, and 1070 mm (42 in) long.
The height of the standard overhead guard is 2105 mm (82.9 in). The seat height
is 1165 mm (45.9 in). Ground clearance minimum below the mast is 85 mm (3.3 in).
At the centre of the wheelbase, ground clearance is 110 mm (4.3 in).
For maneuvering in aisles, the right-angle stacking aisle width for pallets
measuring 1000 by 1200 mm (39.4 by 47.2 in) with the 1200 mm (47.2 in) side
across the width of the truck is 3716 mm (146.3 in). For pallets 800 by 1200 mm
(31.5 by 47.2 in) with the 1200 mm (47.2 in) side along the length of the truck,
the required aisle width is 3916 mm (154.2 in). The internal turning radius is
2090 mm (82.3 in). The total operating weight of the truck is 4490 kg (9899 lb).
