Hyster S135FT Specifications
The Hyster S135FT is an LPG or diesel-powered forklift

Operator comfort and safety are prioritized through features like hydrostatic
power steering, an infinitely adjustable steer column, and the Hyster Stability
System (HSS). The S135FT is equipped with an electronic powershift transmission
with 2 forward and 2 reverse gears as standard, with an optional DuraMatch
transmission featuring 3 forward and 2 reverse gears.
This transmission includes the Auto Deceleration System, controlled rollback on
ramps, and controlled power reversals to move loads more efficiently with less
operator fatigue and product damage. The truck is designed for decreased
downtime and low cost of operation, with features like the Kubota 3.8L DOC
engine providing maintenance-free emissions with no need to add fluids or remove
filters for cleaning.
This model is equipped with a standard 2-stage limited free-lift (LFL) VISTA
mast, with optional 3-stage full free lift masts available depending on
application requirements. It rolls on cushion tires. The distance from the

72.0 in (1,830 mm). The total unladen weight of the standard truck is 19,200 lb
(8,709 kg) for the 2-stage LFL configuration.
When fully laden, the axle load distribution places 29,520 lb (13,390 kg) on the
front axle and 3,180 lb (1,442 kg) on the rear axle. In an unladen state, the
front axle load 7,860 lb (3,565 kg), and the rear axle load 11,340 lb (5,144
kg). The overhead guard height is 91.0 in (2,302 mm) with the tall option, and
88.0 in (2,235 mm) with the short option. The step height is 20.9 in (531 mm).
The Hyster S135FT offers a choice of two robust engine
options to suit different application requirements. The LPG engine is the Kubota
3.8L, a robust and reliable powerplant specifically designed for industrial
operation. It is a four-cylinder engine with a total displacement of 230 cu.in
(3,769 cc). This engine produces a rated power of 91 hp (68 kW) at 2,400 rpm,
with peak torque of 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) at 1,000 rpm. The forklift can equipped
with a PSI 4.3L V-6 engine option with 96.6 to 103.3 hp output.
The diesel engine option is the Kubota 3.8L turbo diesel, a four-cylinder engine
meeting Tier 4 Final emission levels with a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) that
captures and oxidizes particulate matter (soot). It has a displacement of 230
cu.in (3,769 cc). This engine produces a rated power of 74 hp (55 kW) at 2,200
rpm, with peak torque of 227 lb-ft (309 Nm) at 1,400 rpm. Cast ductile iron
steer axle provides maximum durability and superior steering control. The fuel
tank capacity for diesel units is 17.4 gal (65.8 L).
Lubrication is provided by a pressure-fed system ensuring all moving components
are adequately lubricated. Cooling is managed by a liquid-cooled system designed
to maintain optimal operating temperatures, with an optional on-demand cooling
system that reduces overheating and automatically reverses fan direction every
20 minutes to clear radiator of debris.
Transmission: It is fitted with an electronic
powershift transmission as standard, with 2 forward and 2 reverse gears. An
optional DuraMatch transmission provides 3 forward and 2 reverse gears with
state-of-the-art, strong clutch packs that provide longer life. Strong
transmission gears and shafts contribute to decreased downtime. Features include
hydraulic inching and electronic shift control, along with the Auto Deceleration
System which automatically slows the truck when the accelerator pedal is
released, extending brake life. Controlled power reversal feature virtually
eliminates tire spin, thereby increasing tire life.
Travel Speed: The forklift achieves a laden travel speed of 12.4 mph (20.0 km/h)
and an unladen travel speed of 12.9 mph (20.7 km/h). With the 3-speed forward
transmission, laden speed is 12.6 mph (20.2 km/h) and unladen speed is 13.0 mph
(20.8 km/h).
Axles: The drive axle is located at the front. The rear steer axle is robust
with cast ductile iron construction for maximum durability and superior steering
control.
Brakes: The service brake system is hydraulic with foot control. The parking
brake is mechanical with hand control. The truck features strong transmission
gears and shafts for reliable operation.
The electrical system is engineered to reliably support
the engine, safety features, and lighting. It operates on a standard 12-volt
architecture with a maintenance-free battery rated at 900 cold cranking amps.
The Pacesetter VSM industrial on-board computer enables you to adjust and
optimize the performance.
The system powers the starter motor, engine
control systems, and all essential lighting components for safe
operation. The advanced dash display uses a non-reflective, backlit LCD
screen. The Hyster Stability System (HSS) is integrated into the
electrical architecture. Optional Hyster Variable Power Technology
provides adjustable performance modes that allow customers to maximize
productivity or fuel economy.
The chassis provides a rigid and durable foundation,
constructed from heavy-gauge steel with fully welded frame construction to
support all major components under heavy load stress. The ergonomically designed
operator compartment enhances overall comfort and productivity with low noise
level at operator ear lessening driver fatigue and an isolated drivetrain
minimizing the effect of powertrain vibration and road-born shocks. The unique
grid-style overhead guard pattern improves visibility while protecting operators
and strengthening the truck's structure. The front, curved leg design provides
greater shoulder clearance for easier operator entry and exit.
