Toyota 8FGU25 Specifications
The Toyota 8FGU25 is an LPG-powered forklift that
delivers a compelling balance of power, efficiency, and versatility for diverse
material handling operations. Its core strength lies in the proven Toyota 4Y-ECS
engine, which provides reliable performance with electronic fuel injection for
improved efficiency and reduced emissions. The machine rolls on pneumatic tires,
offering excellent traction and shock absorption for uneven surfaces while
maintaining maneuverability in indoor environments.
Operator comfort and safety are prioritized through features like load-sensing
hydrostatic power steering, an ergonomic operator compartment with 4-way
adjustable suspension seat, and Toyota's comprehensive safety systems including
System of Active Stability (SAS) and Operator Presence Sensing System (OPSS).
With competitive travel and lift speeds, the 8FGU25 is designed to maximize
productivity across various applications.
This model is equipped with various mast configurations depending on application
requirements, available as 2-stage or 3-stage masts with limited or full free
lift options. It rolls on pneumatic tires, offering excellent stability and
traction for both improved indoor maneuverability and outdoor versatility. The
truck's fundamental design incorporates Toyota's SAS, contributing actively to
its operational stability.
The Toyota 8FGU25 is powered by the Toyota 4Y-ECS
engine, a robust and reliable powerplant specifically designed for LPG operation
with electronic control system. It is a four-cylinder, overhead valve (OHV)
engine with a total displacement of 2.2 L (136 cu in). This engine produces a
rated power of 51 SAE HP (38 kW) at 2,570 rpm, with peak torque of 118 SAE lb-ft
(160 Nm) at 2,100 rpm. The liquid fuel tank holds 15.9 US gal (60 L) of LPG.
The engine features hydraulic valve lifters for quiet operation and reduced
maintenance, along with a pressure-fed lubrication system ensuring all moving
components are adequately lubricated. Cooling is managed by a liquid-cooled
system with a high-capacity radiator with fan shroud and large-capacity
engine-cooling fan, designed to maintain optimal operating temperatures even
under continuous use.
The engine incorporates electronic fuel injection and a distributorless ignition
system (DLI) for improved reliability, fuel efficiency, and reduced emissions,
and is EPA/CARB certified with a 3-way catalytic muffler system.
Transmission: It is fitted with a heavy-duty Powershift
automatic transmission with electric shift control, which facilitates smooth
direction changes without the need for clutching. This transmission operates
with a single forward and single reverse gear and includes an automatic
transmission oil cooler for enhanced durability.
Travel Speed: The forklift achieves a laden travel speed of 10.9 mph (17.5 km/h)
in both forward and reverse, and an unladen travel speed of 11.2 mph (18.0 km/h)
in both forward and reverse.
Axles: The drive axle is located at the front, featuring a full-floating
powertrain design for heavy load support. The rear steer axle is of a robust,
heavy-duty construction.
Brakes: The service brake system is hydraulic with self-adjusting brakes
operating on the front drive wheels. A mechanically actuated, independent
parking brake is also provided for secure parking.
The electrical system is engineered to reliably support
the engine, safety features, and lighting. It operates on a standard 12-volt
architecture with a 12-volt battery and a high-capacity 70-amp alternator with
built-in regulator. The system powers the starter motor, electronic fuel
injection, distributorless ignition system, and all essential lighting
components including LED headlights, tail lights, and turn indicators for safe
operation.
The machine features a Control Area Network
(CAN-bus) communication system with an LCD multi-function display that
includes data log, fuel and operation information with QR code output,
master warning indicators, various hour meters, engine coolant
temperature gauge, check engine light, engine oil pressure warning
light, OPSS activation light, and parking brake indicator.
The chassis provides a rigid and durable foundation,
constructed from heavy-gauge steel with fully stamped steel side panels and
stamped steel engine hood, welded steel body and frame construction to support
all major components under load stress.
Wheels and Tires: The 8FGU25 is fitted with pneumatic tires with 2 front and 2
rear wheels.
Front: 7.00-12-12PR
Rear: 6.00-9-10PR
Track Width:
Front: 37.8 in (960 mm)
Rear: 38.0 in (965 mm)
Drive Configuration: The vehicle utilizes a 2-wheel drive configuration, with
the two front wheels serving as the driven wheels.
Steering: The steering system on the Toyota 8FGU25 is a load-sensing hydrostatic
power steering system with synchronized steering, providing the operator with
exceptionally smooth and effortless control during low-speed maneuvering and in
confined spaces. The system features an 11.8 in (300 mm) diameter, two-spoke
steering wheel with available knob that provides greater legroom for the
operator. It is engineered for precise response and reduced operator fatigue
during extended shift operation.
The hydraulic system is responsible for powering the
lifting, tilting, and any auxiliary functions. It utilizes a reliable gear-type
pump to ensure high efficiency and pressure. The system operates at a pressure
of 2,275 psi (157 bar) for powering attachments.
The main hydraulic pump has a rated flow of
20.0 gpm (76 L/min), ensuring responsive lift and tilt speeds for
efficient handling of loads. Integral and hang-on sideshifters, as well
as integral sideshifting fork positioner, are available as attachments.
The mast tilts forward by 6 degrees and backward by 11 degrees,
facilitating precise load engagement and secure transport.
The standard mast configuration is available as a
2-stage (V) or 3-stage, high-visibility design depending on application
requirements, with limited free lift or full free lift options.

Lift Height: 179.5 to 189 in (4,560 to 4,800 mm) available with 3-stage mast
configurations
Free Lift: 6.1 in (155 mm). This feature allows for lifting loads at low heights
without increasing the overall mast height, a valuable function when entering
trailers or working under low-clearance structures.
