Clark S20C Specifications
The Clark S20C is an LPG-powered forklift that delivers
a compelling balance of power, efficiency, and versatility for diverse material
handling operations. Its core strength lies in the proven Ford 2.5L engine,
which provides reliable performance with advanced features including dual
overhead cam design, variable valve timing (VVT), and sequential multi-port fuel
injection for improved efficiency and reduced emissions.
The machine rolls on cushion tires, offering excellent stability and
maneuverability on smooth indoor surfaces. Operator comfort and safety are
prioritized through features like load-sensing hydrostatic power steering, an
interactive SMART dash display, and an adjustable full-suspension seat. With
competitive travel and lift speeds for its class, the S20C is designed to
maximize productivity across various applications while maintaining low
operating costs.
This model is equipped with a Nested I-Beam upright, promoting stability and
reliability as material is moved shift after shift. It rolls on cushion tires,
offering excellent stability and maneuverability for smooth indoor surfaces. The
truck's fundamental design incorporates an optimal centre of gravity, enhancing
the truck's stability. The distance from the centre of the drive axle to the
fork face is 16.1 in (409 mm), supported by a wheelbase of 56.3 in (1,430 mm).
The total service weight of the truck is 7,562 lb (3,430 kg). When fully laden,
the axle load distribution places 9,907 lb (4,658 kg) on the front axle and
1,655 lb (772 kg) on the rear axle. In an unladen state, the front axle load is
3,058 lb (1,387 kg), and the rear axle load is 4,504 lb (2,043 kg).
The Clark S20C is powered by the Ford 2.5L engine, a
robust and reliable powerplant specifically designed for LPG operation. It is a
four-cylinder engine with advanced features including dual overhead cam design,
VVT (Variable Valve Timing), sequential multi-port fuel injection, timing
chain-driven camshaft, and automatic belt tensioners. This engine produces a
rated power of 69.7 hp (52 kW) at 2,500 rpm.
The engine has a total displacement of 152 cu in (2,488 cc). Lubrication is
provided by a pressure-fed system ensuring all moving components are adequately
lubricated. Cooling is managed by a liquid-cooled system with an open core
radiator, which reduces engine heat and operates more efficiently. The engine
meets Tier-4 emission standards. The liquid fuel tank holds 15.9 US gal (60 L)
of LPG.
The drivetrain of the S20C is engineered for precise
control and long-term durability. Transmission: It is fitted with a Powershift
automatic transmission, which facilitates smooth direction changes without the
need for clutching. The transmission and axle are separate, simplifying service
and reducing the length of service calls.
Travel Speed: The forklift achieves a laden travel speed of 11.2 mph (18.1 km/h)
and an unladen travel speed of 11.5 mph (18.5 km/h). Axles: The drive axle is
located at the front. The rear steer axle is of a robust, heavy-duty
construction.
Brakes: The service brake system utilizes force-cooled wet disc brakes, which
require less maintenance and have a longer lifespan when compared with
traditional drum brakes. A constant flow of oil around the brakes at all times
reduces the total cost of ownership. An automatically applied parking brake
activates when the truck comes to a rest or the operator leaves the seat.
The electrical system is engineered to reliably support
the engine, safety features, and lighting. It operates on a standard 12-volt
architecture. The machine features a standard interactive 5.6" LCD SMART dash
display with password protection and audible and visual warnings.
On-board diagnostics allow operators to remain informed of service needs, and
reduces the number of service calls to diagnose the truck. The powertrain
protection monitoring system alerts the operator when the powertrain temperature
rises, ensuring the truck does not overheat.
The chassis provides a rigid and durable foundation,
constructed from heavy-gauge steel with fully welded, heavy gauge frame
construction to support all major components under load stress.
Wheels and Tires: The S20C is fitted with cushion tires with 2 front and 2 rear
wheels.
Front: 21x7 in
Rear: 16x5-10.5 in
Track Width:
Front: 34.8 in (884 mm)
Rear: 35.2 in (895 mm)
Drive Configuration: The vehicle utilizes a 2-wheel drive configuration, with
the two front wheels serving as the driven wheels.
The steering system on the Clark S20C is a load-sensing hydrostatic power
steering system, providing the operator with exceptionally smooth and effortless
control during low-speed maneuvering and in confined spaces.
The system features a steering wheel with
optimal diameter of 300 mm and an adjustable steering column with tilt
range of 30 degrees, allowing operators of various heights and sizes to
navigate the operators' compartment with ease.
The hydraulic system is responsible for powering the
lifting, tilting, and any auxiliary functions. It utilizes a reliable gear-type
pump to ensure high efficiency and pressure. The system operating pressure for
attachments is 2,275 psi (157 bar). The main hydraulic pump has a rated flow of
20 gpm (76 L/min).
The hydraulic operating pressure is optimized on the S20C series, reducing
overall fuel consumption. The mast tilts forward by 8 degrees and backward by 10
degrees. The 6-roller carriage and external side-thrust rollers on the upright
reduce rail spreading, helping maintain the full capacity of the mast.
The standard mast configuration is available as a
2-stage or 3-stage, high-visibility Nested I-Beam upright design depending on
application requirements. Mast Height (Lowered): 83.3 in (2,115 mm).
Free Lift: 4.3 in (110 mm). This feature allows for lifting loads at low heights
without increasing the overall mast height, a valuable function when entering
trailers or working under low-clearance structures.
Maximum Fork Height: 130 in (3,300 mm). Mast Extended Height (with LBR): 151.7
in (3,854 mm).
Maximum load - 4,000 lb (2,000 kg)
Load centre - 24 in (600 mm)
