kg or 2048 lb on the rear axle. Without load, weight distribution shifts to 1594
kg or 3515 lb on the front axle and 2650 kg or 5843 lb on the rear axle. The
body and frame are constructed from a fully welded, heavy gauge frame that is
durable and reliable, constructed from high-quality steel.
Basic Technical Data: The forklift is powered by the
Isuzu 4LE2X engine, a four-cylinder diesel unit meeting EU Stage 3b or Stage 5
emission standards. With a displacement of 2179 cc or 133 cu.in, this engine
produces 46 kW or 61.7 hp of power at a rated speed of 2400 rpm. The engine
features a turbocharger and diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) with no regeneration
or combustion cycles required and no additives required. Compared to vehicles
with diesel particulate systems, no interruption of operation is necessary. The
engine includes a 500-hour oil service interval.
Lubrication: The engine lubrication system is a forced-feed type, employing a
gear pump to circulate oil throughout the engine block and cylinder head,
ensuring all moving components are adequately lubricated for reduced friction
and prolonged engine life. The system includes a full-flow oil filter to remove
contaminants. The hydraulic system ensures oil purity through hydraulic oil
filtration on every return to the tank.
Cooling: Engine temperature is regulated by a liquid cooling system with gearbox
oil cooling capability. The system includes an open core radiator which reduces
engine heat and operates more efficiently, with separate radiator ensuring
optimum cooling for the transmission and providing maximum cooling for the
engine, transmission and axle in the harshest conditions. The water pump
circulates coolant through the engine jackets to absorb heat, which is then
dissipated as it passes through the radiator core.
Transmission: The Clark S30D is equipped with a
hydrostatic transmission (HY). This transmission type allows for smooth and
efficient power delivery with infinite speed control, reducing operator fatigue
during frequent shuttling. The transmission and axle are separate, simplifying
service and reducing service call duration. Hydraulic transmission, automatic,
is standard.
Travel Speed: The forklift achieves a laden travel speed of 17.5 km/h or 10.9
mph and an unladen speed of 18.6 km/h or 11.5 mph.
Axles: The front axle is a rigid, drive axle that carries the majority of the
load, while the rear axle features a robust design. The rear axle is designed to
oscillate, allowing all wheels to maintain ground contact on uneven surfaces,
which is crucial for stability. The wheelbase measures 1700 mm or 66.9 in. The
tread width is 1112 mm or 43.8 in for the front and 1134 mm or 44.6 in for the
rear. Grade clearance is 57.7 percent.
Brakes: The service brake system is wet disc brake, providing reliable and
controlled stopping power. The force-cooled wet disc brakes require less
maintenance and have a longer lifespan compared to traditional drum brakes, with
a constant flow of oil around the brakes at all times.
The electrical system operates on a 12V architecture
with an interactive 5.6-inch LCD SMART dash display featuring password
protection, audible and visual warnings, on-board diagnostics keeping operators
informed of service needs, and powertrain protection monitoring system alerting
the operator when the powertrain temperature rises. The SMART dash includes
idling alarms, speed restrictions, and other controls. Standard equipment
includes complete set of lights and safety systems. LED lighting and working
reflectors are available on newer models.
Wheel Drive: The Clark S30D features a 2-wheel drive
configuration, with the front wheels providing the tractive effort.
Wheels: The forklift uses a 2x/2 wheel configuration, meaning two wheels on the
front axle and two on the rear. The front wheels are the driven wheels. The
machine features a fully welded, heavy gauge frame that is durable and reliable,
constructed from high-quality steel.
Tires: This model is fitted with pneumatic tyres as standard, designated type L.
The tyre size for the front is 28 x 9 x 15 - 14 PR. The tyre size for the rear
is 6.50 x 10 - 12 PR. Superelastic wheels are available as an option. Auction
listings indicate solid drives and solid steers available. Optional
configurations include dual or twin tyres on the drive axle with tread width of
1300 mm or 1566 mm.
The steering system is hydrostatic power steering. The use of a load-sensing
flow control valve for steering reduces power loss and maintains heat build-up.
The adjustable steering column allows the driver to select the most comfortable
position with an adjustable tilt range of 30 degrees, accommodating operators of
various heights and sizes. A steering wheel with knob provides enhanced control
during maneuvering.
The hydraulic system is designed for efficient lifting
and tilting operations, ensuring oil purity through hydraulic oil filtration on
every return to the tank. It operates at a maximum operating pressure for
attachments of 140 bar or 2030 psi. The system pump delivers a rated flow of up
to 35 L/min or 9.2 gpm for attachments. Gearbox oil cooling is integrated into
the system. A large 47-liter or 12.4 gal hydraulic oil tank allows the use of
numerous attachments. Increased safety is provided through power failure
protection to prevent uncontrolled lowering of loads.
For optimum performance, the main hydraulic valve incorporates adjustable flow
controls for tilt and auxiliary functions, with a sectional design that
incorporates additional features to simplify maintenance. A safety valve
provides extra safety and prevents an uncontrolled lowering of the mast at all
times. Hood-mounted levers with low input force make truck operation simple and
comfortable. Mini-lever controls are available as optional equipment.
The Clark S30D can be equipped with various mast types
including standard, Hilo, Triplex, and Quad configurations. The lifting systems
feature excellent visibility thanks to extra-wide masts, narrow center
cylinders, and optimized mast design, with angled mast rollers and tilt
cylinders mounted in pendulum bearings. The L-profile mast maximizes the
visibility and robustness, allowing internal distribution of hoses and cables.
The six chassis rollers and two side thrust rollers minimize deflection and side
play, reducing roller contact wear and extending component life. Quiet
sequential rail operation is achieved through hydraulic dampening valves,
reducing jolts during lifting and lowering. The CLARK-standard Nested I-Beam
upright promotes stability and reliability. Specifications for a standard mast
include a lowered height of 2180 mm or 85.8 in.
The mast has a free lift of 110 mm or 4.3 in, allowing the forks to be raised to
this height without increasing the mast's overall height. The standard lift
height is 3300 mm or 130 in. The maximum lift height ranges from 130 in to 204
in for 2-stage masts, 170 in to 288 in for 3-stage masts, and 240 in to 312 in
for 4-stage masts. At full lift, the upright extends to a height of 3967 mm or
156.2 in with load backrest.
The fork carriage is CLASS III A according to DIN 15173. The fork carriage width
is 1040 mm or 41 in. The load distance from the centreline of the front axle to
the front face of forks is 475 mm or 18.7 in. The mast and fork carriage can
