Basic Technical Data: The forklift is powered by the
Kubota WG3800-L-E3C engine, a four-cylinder LPG unit meeting EU Stage 5 emission
standards. With a displacement of 3.8 liters or 3769 cc, this engine produces
63.6 kW or 85.3 hp of power at a rated speed of 2200 rpm. The engine features
ECU-controlled map ignition for more torque and electronic controlled engine
speed, with a 4-cylinder design and overhead valve configuration. The maximum
climbing ability is 26 percent.
Lubrication: The engine lubrication system is a forced-feed type, employing a
gear pump to circulate oil throughout the engine block and cylinder head,
ensuring all moving components are adequately lubricated for reduced friction
and prolonged engine life. The system includes a full-flow oil filter to remove
contaminants. The hydraulic system features a full-flow reverse filter that
filters the oil to the tank at each reverse flow, with rough particles filtered
directly via a suction filter, preventing them from entering the oil circuit and
ensuring a long service life for all hydraulic components.
Cooling: Engine temperature is regulated by a liquid cooling system. This system
comprises a radiator, a water pump, a thermostat, and a cooling fan. The water
pump circulates coolant through the engine jackets to absorb heat, which is then
dissipated as it passes through the radiator core. The engine features proven
cooling systems for reliable operation.
Transmission: The Clark S50SL is equipped with a
hydrostatic transmission (HY). This transmission type allows for smooth and
efficient power delivery with infinite speed control, reducing operator fatigue
during frequent shuttling. The transmission includes shift protection to reduce
the effects of gearshifts when changing direction.
Travel Speed: The forklift achieves a laden travel speed of 17.0 km/h or 10.6
mph and an unladen speed of 18.0 km/h or 11.2 mph. The maximum driving speed for
LPG models is 18.7 km/h.
Axles: The front axle is a rigid, drive axle that carries the majority of the
load, while the rear axle is a robust steering axle with pivotal bearings in
rubber steel mounting. The rear axle is designed to oscillate, allowing all
wheels to maintain ground contact on uneven surfaces, which is crucial for
stability. The wheelbase measures 2100 mm or 82.7 in. The tread width is 1155 mm
or 45.5 in for the front, and 1134 mm or 44.6 in for the rear. Optional dual
tyres on the drive axle improve traction and stability when cornering,
particularly useful for transporting very wide loads.
Brakes: The service brake system is maintenance-free wet disc brakes, providing
reliable and controlled stopping power with up to 50 percent less effort and
strong braking effect even in wet or dusty environments. A power-assisted
service brake enables easier operation with more effect. An auto-engaging
electric parking brake with rollback protection on gradients and ramps prevents
unintentional rolling backward, ensuring the operator always has the truck under
control. When leaving the parked forklift, the parking brake is activated
automatically, and driving against the brake is not possible when activated.
The electrical system operates on a 12 V architecture
with a 5-inch colour display that can be used to display the rear view camera
image. The system includes the CLARK VMS (Vertical Mast System) which, when
activated, automatically stops the tilting process of the mast in the vertical
position when tilting forward or backward. The truck monitoring system provides
security and operational data.
Additional electrical features include highly
visible orange seat belt, automatic neutral position of the driving
direction if the belt buckle is not closed, driving direction change on
the mechanical hydraulic lever or steering column, blue LED warning
lights for both driving directions, speed limiter for programming a
fixed maximum speed, and audible programmable reversing alarms and
warnings. The sound level is 83 dBA according to related models.
Wheel Drive: The Clark S50SL features a 2-wheel drive
configuration with the option of dual tyres on the drive axle, resulting in a
2(4)x/2 configuration where the front wheels provide the tractive effort.
Wheels: The forklift uses a 2x/2 or 4x/2 wheel configuration depending on
whether dual tyres are fitted, meaning two or four wheels on the front axle and
two on the rear. The front wheels are the driven wheels. The machine features a
robust ergonomic design with large, low-set and non-slip steps for safe entry
and exit.
Tires: This model is fitted with pneumatic tyres as standard. The tyre size for
the front is 300x15-18 PR, and for the rear, it is 7.00x12-14 PR. Optional SE
(solid) tyres are available. Dual or twin tyres are available on the drive axle
to improve traction and stability when cornering, particularly useful for
transporting very wide loads.
The steering system is hydrostatic power steering that eliminates steering
kick-back, making manoeuvring the truck effortless for the operator. The system
includes a robust steering axle with pivotal bearings in rubber steel mounting
for stable, vibration-free operation. A steering wheel with knob provides
enhanced control during maneuvering. Driving direction change can be operated on
the mechanical hydraulic lever or on the steering column.
The hydraulic system is designed for efficient lifting
and tilting operations with clear-view uprights, double primary cylinders on
Hi-lo and Triplex uprights, robust 6-roller fork carriage with adjustable side
rollers for durability, and a hose roller mounted separately on top of the chain
roller for best visibility. It operates at a maximum operating pressure for
attachments of 140 bar or 2030 psi. The system pump delivers a rated flow of up
to 35 L/min or 9.2 gpm for attachments.
A full-flow reverse filter filters the oil to the tank at each reverse flow,
with rough particles filtered directly via a suction filter, preventing them
from entering the oil circuit and ensuring a long service life for all hydraulic
components. Load handling is controlled via hood-mounted hydraulic levers as
standard, with up to five hydraulic functions available for attachment
applications. Ergonomic mini-levers with armrest are available as optional
equipment.
