The Hyster H3.5UT is powered by a range of proven
industrial engines, with diesel models featuring Yanmar power units.
Basic Technical Data: Several engine options are available. The primary diesel
option is the Yanmar 4TNE94L, a 4-cylinder diesel with a displacement of 3054 cc
(186.4 cu.in). It produces a rated power of 37.4 kW at 2300 rpm, equivalent to
50.1 hp, and delivers a torque of 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) at 1500 rpm. A more
powerful Yanmar 4TNE98 is also available, with a displacement of 3319 cc (202.5
cu.in), output of 43.0 kW (57.7 hp) at 2450 rpm, and torque of 208 Nm (153.4
lb-ft) at 1700 rpm. These engines are designed for durability and meet EU Stage
V emission regulations.
Lubrication: The engine employs a forced lubrication system. Routine
maintenance, including oil and filter changes, is mandated at specific hourly
intervals as outlined in the periodic maintenance schedule to ensure longevity
and performance. Large, high-quality filters ensure optimum engine protection.
Cooling: Engine temperature is regulated by a pressurized liquid cooling system
with a high-capacity radiator. The radiator is designed to manage both engine
coolant and transmission oil temperatures, ensuring excellent cooling and
reducing the risk of unplanned downtime. Regular inspection of coolant levels
and the cooling system for leaks or debris is part of standard preventative
maintenance.
Transmission: The H3.5UT is equipped with a
single-speed powershift transmission. This transmission is well-proven,
reliable, and efficient, allowing for smooth direction changes with a simple
flick of a switch, without the need for clutching, enhancing operator
efficiency.
Travel Speed: This forklift achieves a laden travel speed of 17.5 km/h (10.9
mph) and an unladen speed of 18.0 km/h (11.2 mph). Acceleration time with a load
is 12.0 seconds, and without a load is 8.0 seconds.
Axles: The front drive axle features a robust design with many components,
including the housing, being cast for strength and durability. It has 2 driven
wheels. The rear axle has a tread width of 970 mm or 38.2 in.
Brakes: Service braking is handled by a hydraulic drum brake system. The parking
brake is mechanical. This straightforward design contributes to ease of
maintenance.
The electrical system operates at a standard 12 volts,
powering the starter motor, lights, and electronic control units. The operator's
compartment features a clear 3.5-inch LCD display that provides the operator
with valuable truck information at a glance, including hour meters and
diagnostic alerts.
Chassis: The chassis is a heavy-duty, one-piece welded
steel frame. This design, combined with many cast components like the drive axle
housing, provides a solid foundation that reduces wear and tear on the truck.
Tilt cylinders are sealed to minimize contamination.
Wheels and Tires: The truck is fitted with superelastic tires, a standard option
for the H3.5UT. These tires offer the load-carrying capacity of a solid tire
with ride comfort approaching that of a pneumatic. The front tires are size
28x9-15NHS-14PR, and the rear tires are size 6.50-10NHS-10PR. The wheel
configuration features 2 driven wheels at the front and 2 steer wheels at the
rear. The front tread width is 1000 mm or 39.4 in, and the rear tread width is
970 mm or 38.2 in. Overall width varies from 1210 mm (47.6 in) to 1650 mm (65.0
in) depending on configuration.
Steering: The H3.5UT features hydrostatic power steering, which significantly
reduces the effort required to turn the wheel, especially during low-speed
maneuvering. A rear drive handle with an integrated horn makes reverse driving
more comfortable and safe.
The hydraulic system is designed for intelligent and
efficient operation. It uses load-sensing hydraulics for precise load control.
Auxiliary hoses are centered on the free lift cylinder to eliminate hose
twisting, and positive hose retention with large radius bends minimizes hose
scuffing. A high-capacity pump provides adequate oil supply.
The operating pressure for attachments is 175
bar (2538 psi). Pump capacity for attachments is 64 L/min (16.9 US
gal/min). The hydraulic oil tank has a capacity of 60.0 to 70.0 L (15.8
to 18.5 US gal), which is shared with the fuel tank capacity.
The forklift is equipped with a range of mast options,
including limited free lift (LFL) and full free lift (FFL) configurations, to
suit various applications. The masts are designed with wide mast windows and
neatly routed hoses for excellent visibility of the load and forks. The standard
mast configuration has a lowered height of 2150 mm or 84.6 in. It provides a
free lift of 165 mm or 6.5 in, enabling lifting in low-clearance areas before
the mast sections begin to extend. The maximum lift height is 3000 mm or 118 in
for the standard mast, with other options reaching up to 5500 mm (216.5 in).
The mast extends to a height of 3700 mm or 145.7 in including the load backrest.
The mast tilts forward by 6 degrees and backward by 12 degrees to facilitate
load handling and secure transport. The fork carriage is ISO 2328 Class III A,
with a carriage width of 1100 mm or 43.3 in. The standard fork dimensions are 45
mm thick, 122 mm wide, and 1070 mm long, which is 1.8 in by 4.8 in by 42 in.
Integral sideshift carriages are available as an option to make load handling
easy and convenient.
Load Capacity: 7,716 lb (3,500 kg)
