Hyster H40XMS Specifications
The Hyster H40XMS is a gas or LPG-powered forklift that
delivers a compelling balance of power, efficiency, and versatility for material
handling operations. Its core strength lies in the proven Mazda M4-2.0G engine,
a four-cylinder powerplant providing dependable torque and reliability for
continuous use. The machine rolls on pneumatic tires, offering excellent
traction and shock absorption for varied surfaces.
Operator control is facilitated through features like hydrostatic power steering
and a single-speed powershift transmission with Monotrol pedal control. The
H40XMS is equipped with a 2-stage limited free-lift mast as standard, with
optional 3-stage full free lift masts available, designed for productive
operation across various applications.
This model is equipped with a standard 2-stage limited free-lift (LFL) mast,
with optional 3-stage full free-lift (FFL) masts available depending on
application requirements. It rolls on pneumatic tires, offering excellent
stability and traction. The distance from the centre of the drive axle to the
fork face is 14.9 in (379 mm).
The wheelbase is 52.8 in (1,341 mm). The total service weight of the truck is
6,795 lb (3,082 kg). When fully laden, the axle load distribution places 9,530
lb (4,323 kg) on the front axle and 1,265 lb (574 kg) on the rear axle. The
overhead guard height is 82.1 in (2,085 mm).
The Hyster H40XMS is powered by the Mazda M4-2.0G
engine, a robust and reliable powerplant specifically designed for industrial
operation. It is a four-cylinder engine with a total displacement of 121.0 cu.in
(1,998 cc). This engine produces a rated power of 42.0 hp (31.0 kW) at 2,400 rpm
on gasoline and 40.0 hp (29.8 kW) at 2,400 rpm on LPG according to SAE
standards.
The engine features a 4-cycle design with overhead valves. Lubrication is
provided by a pressure-fed system ensuring all moving components are adequately
lubricated. Cooling is managed by a liquid-cooled system designed to maintain
optimal operating temperatures. The fuel tank capacity is 7.9 US gal (30 L).
Transmission: It is fitted with a single-speed
powershift transmission with a torque converter. Gear changes are controlled by
a Monotrol pedal, which integrates direction and speed control.
Travel Speed: The forklift achieves a laden and unladen travel speed of 12.3 mph
(19.8 km/h) with the standard 1-speed transmission.
Axles: The drive axle is located at the front. The rear steer axle is robust
with proven steer axle design.
Brakes: The service brake system is hydraulic with foot control. The parking
brake is mechanical with hand control.
The electrical system is engineered to reliably support
the engine, safety features, and lighting. It operates on a standard 12-volt
architecture with a maintenance-free battery rated at 305 cold cranking amps.
The system powers the starter motor, engine control systems, and all essential
lighting components for safe operation.
The chassis provides a rigid and durable foundation,
constructed from heavy-gauge steel with fully welded frame construction to
support all major components under load stress. Wheels and Tires: The H40XMS is
fitted with pneumatic tires with 2 front and 2 rear wheels.
Front Tires: 6.50x10-12 PR
Rear Tires: 5.00x8-10 PR
Track Width:
Front: 34.9 in (887 mm)
Rear: 35.2 in (894 mm)
Drive Configuration: The vehicle utilizes a 2-wheel drive configuration, with
the two front wheels serving as the driven wheels.
Steering: The steering system on the Hyster H40XMS is a hydrostatic power
steering system that provides smooth and effortless control during low-speed
maneuvering and in confined spaces.
The hydraulic system is responsible for powering the
lifting, tilting, and any auxiliary functions. The system operating pressure for
attachments is 2,560 psi (17,635 kPa). The relief pressure for attachments is
set accordingly. The mast tilts forward by 6 degrees and backward by 6 degrees.
A safety valve prevents uncontrolled lowering of the load.
The standard mast configuration is a 2-stage limited
free-lift (LFL) mast, with optional 3-stage full free lift masts available.
