produces a rated output of 57.6 hp (43 kW) at 2,600 rpm governed speed.
Lubrication: The engine employs a forced lubrication system with hydraulic valve
lifters. The valve lifters have a rounded surface where they contact the cam
lobes, causing the valve lifters to rotate during engine operation for even
wear. Routine maintenance, including oil and filter changes, is mandated at
specific hourly intervals as outlined in the periodic maintenance schedule to
ensure longevity and performance. Service manuals contain detailed
specifications for engine repair including cylinder head removal, valve guide
clearance measurement, and valve spring testing.
Cooling: Engine temperature is regulated by a pressurized liquid cooling system.
Regular inspection of coolant levels and condition, as well as monitoring the
radiator, water pump, and hoses for wear and debris, is part of standard
preventative maintenance.
Transmission: The H45XM is equipped with a 1-speed
powershift transmission with torque converter. The transmission features a
Monotrol pedal for gear change, allowing operators to control direction and
acceleration with a single pedal, reducing fatigue and improving productivity.
The transmission type is automatic. Gear change is accomplished via the Monotrol
pedal with 1 forward and 1 reverse speed. Optional transmission configurations
may be available.
Travel Speed: This forklift achieves a laden travel speed of 11.5 mph (18.5
km/h) and an unladen speed of 12.0 mph (19.3 km/h) with the standard 1-speed
powershift transmission.
Axles: The front axle is a drive axle with 2 driven wheels. The wheelbase is
63.9 in or 1,623 mm. Front tread width is 37.8 in (960 mm) for single tires.
Rear tread width is 38.1 in (968 mm) for single tires. Some units feature dual
front wheels. The steering axle is designed for durability with cramping-type
steering.
Brakes: Service braking is handled by a hydraulic foot brake system. The parking
brake is a hand-operated mechanical lever. The braking system is designed for
reliable stopping power in all operating conditions.
The electrical system operates at a standard 12 volts.
Battery options include 12V/305 CCA or 12V/590 CCA depending on configuration.
The system powers the starter motor, lights, and electronic control units.
Service manuals caution to disconnect battery cables before doing any
disassembly and repair to the engine or parts of the electrical system to
prevent damage to diodes and resistors. The neutral start safety feature
prevents the engine from starting if the gearshift is not in neutral.
The chassis is a heavy-duty, one-piece welded steel
frame that supports all major components: the engine, drivetrain, counterweight,
and mast. The frame is designed to withstand the rigors of industrial
applications.
The truck is fitted with pneumatic tires as standard, providing enhanced
stability and traction on various surfaces. The front drive tires are size
7.00x12-12 Ply. The rear steer tires are size 6.00x9-10 Ply. The wheel
configuration features 2 driven wheels at the front and 2 steer wheels at the
rear, with 4 wheels total. Some units feature dual front wheels. Overall width
with single tires is 45.5 in (1,156 mm).
The H45XM features hydrostatic power steering with cramping-type steering. This
system significantly reduces the effort required to turn the wheel, especially
when the truck is stationary or moving slowly under load.
The hydraulic system powers the lifting, tilting, and
auxiliary functions such as sideshift. The relief pressure for attachments is
2,250 psi (15,513 kPa). The system is designed for reliable performance and
serviceability.
The forklift is equipped with a range of mast options
