for its reliability, fuel efficiency, and advanced emission controls.
Basic Technical Data: The engine is a 4-cylinder turbo diesel with indirect
injection (IDI-T) and a displacement of 3620 cc (221 cu.in). It produces a rated
power of 57.0 kW at 2400 rpm according to ISO 1585, equivalent to 76.4 hp at
2400 rpm. The engine delivers a torque of 296 Nm at 1600 rpm (218 lb-ft at 1600
rpm). The engine features a cast iron cylinder block for durability, eliminating
the need for HT wires, distributor caps, and rotors. Fast glow plugs ensure
reliable starting in low temperature conditions. Fuel Tank: 100.3 L (26.5 US
gal).
The diesel engine uses a DOC catalyst to meet emission regulations without
requiring a regeneration process, reducing downtime and service costs.
Alternative engine options include Kubota 3.8L diesel for the Fortens Advance
and Advance+ versions, and GM 4.3L LPG for gas models. The GM 4.3L LPG produces
77 kW at 2400 rpm with displacement of 4.3 L (4300 cc) and 6 cylinders. The
ECO-eLo fuel efficiency mode reduces fuel consumption by up to 20%.
Lubrication: The engine employs a forced lubrication system. Routine
maintenance, including oil and filter changes, is mandated at specific hourly
intervals as outlined in the periodic maintenance schedule to ensure longevity
and performance.
Cooling: Engine temperature is regulated by a pressurized liquid cooling system
featuring a Combi-cooler radiator with aluminum core radiators and impeller-type
fan design in the counterweight tunnel. Performance optimization developments
include cooling on demand to further reduce total fuel consumption. Regular
inspection of coolant levels and condition, as well as monitoring the radiator,
water pump, and hoses for wear and debris, is part of standard preventative
maintenance. The superior cooling system allows the forklift to operate at lower
temperatures, eliminating the risk of overheating in intensive work
applications.
Transmission: The H5.0FT is equipped with an automatic
powershift / hydrodynamic transmission with options for Electronic Powershift (1
or 2 speed), DuraMatch (1 or 2 speed), or DuraMatch Plus2. The Fortens Advance
models feature DuraMatch transmission. The DuraMatch transmission manages
braking and direction changes of the forklift, extending the service life of
brakes and tires and preventing transmission wear. DuraMatch 2 is a two-speed
transmission with advanced features including dynamic automatic braking system,
throttle response management (TRM), and automatic speed hold (ASH) hydraulic
system. The auto deceleration system (ADS) enhances control and efficiency by
automatically adjusting travel speed. Controlled power reversal and controlled
rollback on ramps provide maximum control on grades and increase operator
productivity when the brake and throttle pedal are released. The traction speed
limiter is unconditional and adjustable.
Travel Speed: This forklift achieves a laden travel speed ranging from 16.5 km/h
to 18.2 km/h (10.3 mph to 11.3 mph) depending on configuration, and an unladen
speed of 17.6 km/h to 18.5 km/h (10.9 mph to 11.5 mph). Maximum speed up to 23.9
km/h (14.9 mph) without load for some configurations.
Axles: The front axle is a drive axle with 2 driven wheels. The wheelbase is
2100 mm or 82.7 in. Front tread width is 1150 mm or 45.3 in. Rear tread width is
